It’s widely accepted that fairness is a key governance principle for AI, but what does it mean? The DRCF has been exploring this, together with the Equality and Human Rights Commission. This new article summarises a cross-regulator workshop exploring what fairness in AI is, and each regulator’s interpretation of fairness within its remit. The DRCF plans to delve deeper into fairness and the cross-regulatory implications of specific situations where fairness applies, as well as explore more of the government’s AI principles in this collaborative way.
